Maryland Certification Publications
NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD FROM THE WEB!
The WWOA, together with the Maryland Center for Environmental Training (MCET) and the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), has created two publications designed to help the Maryland environmental systems operator understand the Maryland Operator / Superintendent Certification system, and aid the potential examinee to prepare to take any of the Operator Certification Examinations.
"A Guide to Maryland Certification for Water and Wastewater Operators and Superintendents" will explain the State certification requirements as well as the certificate renewal requirements. Who needs to be certified, and in which classification, including a step-by-step sequence chart that details the operator and superintendent certification process, is a featured element.
"A Handbook for Maryland Certification Examinations - Preparing for and Taking the Water and Wastewater Operator Examinations" will help prepare you for the exam and explains the actual process of taking the exam. It identifies the topics on each classification exam and makes important suggestions about test-taking strategies.
In addition to downloadable versions on the web, paper copies of both of these publications are distributed at no charge by WWOA, MCET and MDE. The following contacts can supply you with either publication:
WWOA - Winfield McKell, Public Relations Committee Chair (301-206-7550) MCET - Karen Brandt, Director (301-934-7500); or email at info@mcet.org MDE - Lee Haskins, Board Administrator (800) 633-6101 x3167 or e-mail at pkratochvil@mde.state.md.us
